Oops!!!!!

So....I heard that Regis and Kelly were having a "Beautiful Baby" contest....and the winner get's $3000 and a trip to New York (yeah baby!!!).
Naturally, since I do have the cutest baby in the USA, I decided to enter my dear Presley in the contest.

I went to their website and filled out the forms and tried to submit a picture. However, the file size was to big for the entry, so it did not go through.
I spend a while trying to figure out how to reduce the file size without affecting the picture quality. I chose to experiment with a picture I was NOT going to submit...just in case I messed it up. I thought I could figure it out with a sample picture and then send the actual photo I wanted entered in the contest.
After a lot of experimental resizing, I found out how to reduce the file size without messing up the picture.
I then proceeded to fill out the form again and submit the entry photo. However, in my earlier experimenting, I had send an entry (on accident) as well....and, of course, they only allow ONE entry per kid.
Quite upset, I decided to look and see just what picture I sent them....remember, it was the experiment picture, not the "real" one.
Needless to say.....I doubt we will be winning this years beautiful baby contest.

Growing Up, Part #2....

Welllllll...............in my last post I showed y'all that Pres is now in a "big boy bed". Let me recount that night, in detail, for all to know. A warning here to those who either...
A.) have a weak stomach
B.) Have no kids and will therefore think us in need of an asylum for wanting more kids
C.) Dads who do not have the natural "mommy" hormones to help them.

Pres went to bed just fine. He only got out of bed twice, and each time he slowly opened his door, saw me, and ran laughing back to his bed. All is well.
Fast forward to around 2 a.m.

Ethan: "MOM! DAD! Pres is throwing up!!!!"

This happens to be the night Pres gets sick. The night he happens to be in his own bed for the first time.
He has lost his supper (and lunch...) all over his bed, himself, Ethan and Ethan's bed, the floor, the pillows, his stuffed animals.....must I go on?
And since this happens to be the first night he is not in a crib, he is walking around the room.....spreading his partially digested food from the past day allll around.

See, these are the things that endear us to our kids. Only a mom can clean vomit out of her hair, her kids hair and her home at 2 a.m. and STILL be desperately in love with the perpetrator. And really....one has not lived till one has been thrown up on by a child. It is a pitiful experience....not necessarily for the mom, but for the poor little one that clings to her while losing his stomach, in need of her comfort.

Now, let us fast forward to the next night. Pres is much better and sound asleep in his bed.
Kellen: " MOM! DAD! I am gonna throw up!!!" Then ensues endless hours of every 10 minute vomiting.
About 3 hours after that....
Ethan: "MOM! DAD! I am gonna throw up!!!"
Now we have 2 kids barfing, one getting over the barfing and one ready to play....and a mom who is also beginning to feel the effects of 2 nights with little sleep....and a sour stomach herself.
It is always nice to help your two kids throw up while needing to do so yourself.
Thankfully, Josiah felt great :) and was a wonderful help to us all.
To bad he doesn't have those female/mothering hormones. Poor guy. He has to get through it by shear willpower. At least I can blame my insanity (of wanting to help my kids spew) on mothering hormones.
Did I mention that I am really looking forward to having another baby in the future?! :)

Growing Up.....

Growing up....No, not me :) My little baby Presley. Today has been a big day for him. This afternoon I finally cut his hair. (sniff sniff) It is NOT short...just....shortER. :) The curls are still there, but at least now no one will call him a her. This evening, Josiah took down his crib. (sniff sniffsniff sniff sniffsniff) Pres has been my oldest kid in one....he just seems so little still!!! But he was very excited to sleep next to Ethan. I just put his crib mattress on the floor next to Ethan's bed till Pres gets used to being in a "big boy bed". (uummm....and until I buy him his own bed!! Ha!!) Notice he put all his toys right next to him...he is a creature of habit so he had to have everything like it always is. So far he has only come out of his room twice....and both times he saw me and RAN back in his room, slammed the door and jumped in his bed. Ha!!!! Ethan is a sweetie....singing to Pres alllll he wants. He is in heaven :)

Saturday

Today was a nice and lazy day.....Josiah took the boys climbing (a Saturday morning tradition now) and the rest of the day was spent hanging out.

We played Charades tonight before putting the kids to bed. When it was my turn, I played "the Midwife". (I know, your shocked) I came into the room with an armload full of stuff, put it down, rubbed a laboring mom's back and then held my hands out to catch the baby. Presley's turn was next...and being only 2, he imitates what we have done. So this picture is Presley being the Midwife....holding out his little hands to catch a baby. Could a mother be more proud?!?! :) :)
This was a much better thing to share than him imitating me being on American Idol....yikes.

Josiah and Pres doing the Indian Wrestling game.

My little Tarin climbing the wall!!! This was a far as he got. At this point he said, very calmly, "Dad. I am very scared".
My boys got a kick out of the guy who was helping them....they could not get over how long his hair was...."just like mommy's!!!"

My Kell doing a great job :)

That is Ethan waaaaay up there.

The boys "helping" Daddy play his guitar.

Pres loves sitting with Josiah as he plays....how sweet!

the Denver Museum of Science and Nature

On Wednesday Dawn and I took the kiddies to the Denver Museum of Science and Nature. We all had a good time, and the boys REALLY loved the dinosaurs!!!

Sitting on pretend Lamas in front of the Lama display.

Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ethan and Kellen imitating the Gazelles in the display :) This picture set up was all Ethan's idea.

The boys also LOVED the Egyptian Mummies. Here they are standing right beside a real mummy of an Egyptian woman....it was 3000 years old!!!

Ahhhh....finally, the dinosaurs.

Scary faces!!!!

This Dino skull was actually dug up not far from where we live. It was found by a company that was building a neighborhood!!! Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex were very common here in Paradise. Glad I didn't live here then! Yikes!

"Mr. Bones" eating Ethan!!

Tasting my little Kellen.....

As we were leaving the boys jumped on the wolf sculptures.....

Yeee-Haw!!!!!!!!
