And We're Off!!!!

Mom, Tarin, Presley and I are headed towards Texas this morning! Yeah!!!!!
We will stop about halfway and spend the night....a 14+ hour trip straight through is more than I can handle.

I am going for the birth of my dear sweet Noelle! This is her 3rd baby...second homebirth....first (hopeful) waterbirth...she has two beautiful girls (my future daughter-in-laws!) and we are all thinking that this baby is a boy. However...a disclaimer...I am always wrong on what the baby is...so we will see.
So you will probably be graced with a detailed rendition of her birth story as soon as I can post it :)

One more thing.

My midwife came over for my prenatal visit the other day. We had a good time talking and hanging out...gotta love those 1+ hour long visits :)
So time came for her to palpate the baby and she was smiling at the fact that the kid kept kicking her...and she said, "Well, this is no shrimpy kid."
Hello! I was 23 weeks at the time....the kid is supposed to be shrimpy! So if he/she is not shrimpy now, what does that say for the baby at full term? Not to panic, my friends, I am only being dramatic. I know full well this baby will not be small. After several 9.8-10.8 pound babies I am not expecting a small baby.
I just found it humorous. My baby is not a shrimp. :)

Ebay Link

Okay people....you MUST read this Ebay auction. It will be gone soon since the auction is over..so hurry!!!!!!!!!! Read the whole thing. You will DIE laughing...and you will be able to relate if you have more than a couple of kids. I loved it :)

Another Article

I had to post this link to an article from ICAN (international cesarean awareness network). It is a sad reminder that c-sections are not without risk. For the moms who need a c-section, we are very grateful for that technology that saves the lives of moms and babies...however, the un-needed c-section's done on millions of moms are not without risk and many times do not benefit anyone but the doctor.

Articles

There have been several good articles this week from mainstream publications...which means, of course, that the general public will take it more seriously...which is good! :)

This article is about the possibility that inducing labor for convenience could be...BAD! Oh, gee whiz. DUH. Something midwives had known for centuries...but at least medical "wisdom" is getting the real wisdom.

http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-he-induction13aug13,0,3515049.story?coll=la-home-middleright

This article is about cutting the cord after the birth. Well, yet another thing that midwives have done for centuries but medical science is just "discovering." It is better for babies to wait to cut the cord later rather than right at the birth of a baby. DUH.

This is a link to an article about antibacterial soap...and how it may not be the best option. DUH. At least the general public will believe it now that a doctor had said it.

I am so tired!!!!!!

Tarin's First Tooth!!!!

Tarin lost his first tooth!!!!!!! The whole family is very relieved. This tooth has been hanging by a thread for a while and Tarin kept sticking the tooth out at everyone to get a reaction...very icky. Finally I asked if I could feel the tooth and he let me...so I pulled it out. Tarin was shocked that it did not hurt...and was then very excited that it was bleeding. Yes, he will be a doctor and support me in my old age :)

Josiah had his last triathlon of the summer...he did pretty well considering the injured shoulder. This is him at the finish line...the only picture I got since he started at 6 a.m....yeah, I meet him at the finish line at around 7:30 a.m.

For my birthday Josiah and some friends took me to Benihana's!!!! Now, for you Georgia people, it ain't no Mt. Fuji, but it is good Japanse Hibachi...and we had a blast!!!! Our friends Ben and Stephanie went with us....Ben was a Hibachi virgin :) ...alas, no more!!!

Yes, I am pregnant and have gained a good 22 lbs...you can see it in my face. Notice how the picture abruptly cuts off below the neckline? Yeah. It was all planned.

Murder (i.e. Abortion)

Happy Birthday to me!!!!!! But so far, this birthday has reminded me of the depravity of men.

So I ran across an article this morning linked to Fox News.

I am really appalled.

I should not be, but I am.

Apparently....there are women who are pretty desperate to kill their unborn babies...and since the "partial birth abortion" is now kinda illegal, doctors have been kind enough to provide another way for moms to kill their kids legally after 20 weeks of gestation. Yeah. Nice of them, hu? Hopefully that will help the docs pay for their vacation homes, poor, overworked guys.
Anyway, the newest and latest technology in obstetrics is injecting a deadly medicine (a heart medicine or potassium chloride) into the baby to kill it prior to the surgical abortion. OH, I get it! It is illegal to partially deliver the baby and THEN open it's skull with a scalpel and suck it's brains out....but it is OKAY to give it a shot and cause it's gruesome death AND THEN deliver it!

That makes sense.

I mean REALLY PEOPLE. We have 4D ultrasounds now that show the baby's face as clear as day. We KNOW that there is a real baby in there. We can help a little baby born at 22 weeks (or earlier) survive to be an active, wonderful child. We know that a baby's heart is beating before the mom usually even knows she is pregnant!!!!!
How barbaric are we to allow these precious lives to be killed? It is insanity.
And I do not want to hear all the violin music about young, single moms...or rape victims...or whoever else gets abortions because it would be easier on her not to be pregnant.
EVERY LIFE is a blessing. Every life is wanted. Heck, I can name 5 families right now who have been trying to adopt for YEARS. There are plenty of babies to go around...if we would quit killing them.
And having worked with women in their child bearing age for over 10 years, I have met numerous moms who have had abortions for these above listed reasons...and ALL OF THEM....A-L-L have had regret, anger, remorse, guilt, etc about it. Even the moms who do not hold the same beliefs as I do about the subject. They all know and understand what went on.

Well, I could go on all day, but you must read the article for yourselves and see what you think. It is actually appalling (have I said that already?) at the flippant way this "procedure" it spoken of.

And might I add....when a country has so little regard for human life as we do...not only with abortion but with the fact that parents have kids just to send them away for someone else to raise (daycare, school, etc) and parents have such a selfish attitude that they can only handle one..maybe two kids..so that they can do whatever they please without having their life interrupted by children.....this country is headed in a very dangerous direction. Communism, socialism, etc are not far around the corner.
And while I am at it (how was that last paragraph for a run on sentence?!) how about our choices for the President??? Gee wiz, can someone PLEASE stand up for what's right despite what others think!!!!! Where are the conservative Christian, pro family candidates?????
Well, I hope to change that.
We are a conservative Christian, right-wing, homeschooling (not government educated), God fearing family that is having at the LEAST 5 children. How many leftist, liberal, socialists do YOU know who have more than two kids? Not many. So us homeschooling, breeding families that are raising our kids to follow the Bible will be outnumbering the liberals by a long shot in the years to come....and then Lord willing we can turn this country back into what the Founding Fathers had in mind.
And we will stop the murdering of babies. No matter what gestational age.

Just a birthday rant...brought to you courtesy of a homeschooled, Christian conservative mom in Colorado...land of the liberals :)

Nate, Courtney and Hannah!!!!!!!

We all just had the best week EVER!!! My dear brother Nate and his family (wife Courtney and baby girl Hannah) have been here for 6 days and we have been able to love on our little Hannah all we want! I must say that she is the cutest baby girl EVER in all the world....she is a good baby...rarely is she fussy...and she smiles ALL the time. Below are a few pictures of their trip here...I had to narrow them down from 93 pictures to "a few" to fit on the blog. :)

The first thing that had to happen when they arrived was for all the boys to take turns holding Hannah....

Kell was Hannah's entertainment for the week. He would make her laugh and smile all the time! He calls himself "Cousin Kell" and he takes his job of keeping Hannah happy very seriously.

Hannah wearing the hat I got her!!!! Adorable!!!!!

Uncle Josiah holding her...he has decided that we HAVE to have a baby girl :)

We went up to Red Rocks one day for some pictures....

Hannah LOVES her sling!!!!

Evergreen

My handsome brother beaming with joy with his little girl :)

The rainbow seems to end right at our home :) I must agree....our family is a treasure :)

On their last night here we went up to Daniels Park to watch the sunset and take some pictures. Below are a bunch of neat pictures with Tarin, Presley, Josiah, Mom, Nate, court, Hannah and one of me....posted after much protest....

Two of my boys and two rainbows.

Just a random picture of Pres the other morning...Josiah found him across the street with the neighbor kids..."dressed" like this:

Ethan's 10th Birthday

Ethan turned 10 years old on July 17th. This year instead of a "friend party" he chose to go with friends to Six Flags (with Josiah, of course!)...so there was not an official party for him. However, being the party animals that we are we HAD to do a little something for him! So while Moo-Ma, Poo-Pa, GG Mom and GG Dad were here we had a little family party.

The day began with Moo-Ma taking Ethan out to breakfast at IHOP. He loved it!

That evening everyone came over (Moo-Ma, Poo-pa, GG Mom , GG Dad, Maiza, Bella, Noy and Dawn) to have cake and ice cream.

The pirate cake!!!!

Aaawww....presents!!!

Yeah! Lego's!!!!!!!

The famous game of Monopoly. Ethan got this from Grammy and Granddad and we all had a BLAST playing! We were up till midnight, of course, and Daddy won, of course. But take a look at the next picture...

...Ethan did not go without a fight! Here are his properties with hotels on them. Yes....my homeschooled child has real estate :)

A few nights later we celebrated my moms birthday....and I will NOT tell you how old she is...

...oh...OOPS :)

And here is my little Tarin...loving on his dog Lily.

Vaccines

Below is a link to an article from CBN about vaccines. There are just so many things that can and do go wrong with the vaccine campaign that is in place for kids today.
Check out the article and notice the questions at the end and ask these before you get another shot for your child.
And if more information is desired, please get the book, "Vaccines: A Thoughtful Parents Guide" by Aviva Romm.

Yippie Skippie!!!!

I am a full 20 weeks TODAY!

Half way to meeting my new baby!!!

And the power I feel because I could find out the sex of the baby but am not going to...well, it is great. I really REALLY want to know what the baby is going to be, however, I feel it will "spoil" my surprise at the birth. Besides...you know how it is when you know what you are getting for Christmas? it is fun to get it, but you do not have the great anticipation and excitement on Christmas morning. SO...I am not spoiling my Christmas by knowing ahead of time what the baby will be.
Call me crazy....but I love being surprised :)

OH!!!! I must mention the new bumper sticker I have! Currently I have a "Our Children Were Born At Home" sticker on my car (for the sake of education)...but the NEW one I have is basically to see what reaction I get in the rear view mirror. :) Terrible, I know. And I am not promising to put it on my car because of road rage...but I have it just in case I feel feisty one day. It says,
"DARE to keep babies off drugs...Have a homebirth"
Isn't that hysterical? I thought so :) If only I had the nerve to use it...

I might get the one that says,
"There is a secret in our culture. It is NOT that birth is painful, it IS that women are strong"
I love that quote as well. And perhaps that would get the point across without the sarcasm...and the chance of having my car keyed...

One last thing.....my brother and his wife and BABY GIRL are coming tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just thrilled! Josiah says I am not allowed to go to the GAP at ALL while she is here...what a terrible Uncle he is...but Hannah need not worry...her Auntie will take care of her. :) :) :)

Gotta go cleannnnnnnnnnnnnnn......................
